Camp Douglas Restoration Foundation (CDRF) has created three sets of a traveling exhibit to tell the story of Camp Douglas. CDRF does not have a brick-and-mortar location. Other than archaeological finds and two historical markers indicating the site of the camp and the importance of the area, there is no physical evidence of the camp’s existence remaining today. This exhibit raises awareness of the camp’s significance in the U.S. Civil War as well as in the history of Chicago and the state of Illinois.

Each set of the Traveling Exhibit consists of ten retractable banners.  The banners were custom-made and contain well-researched text, maps, photographs, and info-graphs. Information is presented in unique and creative ways to attract a variety of audiences. QR codes on the banners access web-based teacher resources, a bibliography, and a photo gallery.  The banners are available for loans to institutions and organizations. The set of ten will be transported, installed, and taken down at local host organizations by CDRF. Contact Roy Malone at (224)999-2414 for more information.
